“These three paintings derive from scenes of destruction both current and past. They reference images of storms at sea, sites of battle, the sketches for JMW Turner’s Fire at the Grand Storehouse of the Tower of London 1841. The layering of landscapes and sites of conflict creates a conflation of time and place that engages the viewer with their own recognition of mediated images of struggle from around the globe.”
